Baseballs were flying all over the ballpark as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics
ran roughshod over the seemingly hapless Washington Nationals.  The
Philadelphia-AL offense rolled up a total of 11 runs!.

Philadelphia-AL had 5 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning when they came up
with 4 base hits.  That early scoring held up.  Overall Philadelphia-AL
out-hit Washington 13 to 10.  

The winning pitcher was Sam Zoldak(5-3) who allowed 1 run in 6 innings. The
loss was charged to Don Newcombe(6-9).  He allowed Philadelphia-AL 8 runs in
7 innings of work.
