WEB GEMS- Bot 6th: Eddie Yost robbed Sid Gordon of a base hit.

First baseman Eddie Robinson had 2 base hits as the blistering-hot New York-AL
Yankees beat the Chicago-NL Cubs in 11 innings by a score of 1 to 0.

The score was knotted at zero after nine innings. Finally, New York-AL
prevailed in the 11th inning. After an out was recorded, Minnie Minoso laced
a base-hit. Minoso took off for second and slid in with a stolen base.
Mickey Mantle then was walked intentionally. Sid Gordon stepped in and he
drew a walk to load the bases. Robinson stepped into the box and ripped a
single resulting in an exciting win for New York-AL and a wild post-game
celebration by the home town fans. New York-AL had just 6 hits for the
night.

Satchel Paige(3-3) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. The losing
pitcher was Eddie Yuhas(5-5) in relief. It was another victory for New
York-AL at Yankee Stadium. Now their winning streak stands at 7 games.
