Wally Post cracked a homer and had 2 RBI and Herb Score struck out 11 batters
at Forbes Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates won in dramatic fashion coming back
to beat the New York-AL Yankees by the count of 6 to 5.

Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 9th inning scoring 2
runs.  After an out was recorded, Yogi Berra started the rally when he drew a
walk.  Post next to the plate and he smashed a two-run homer making
Pittsburgh the winners and sending the 29,481 fans home happy.  Pittsburgh
managed 10 hits in their victory.  

Ellis Kinder(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Jack
Meyer(5-6) took the loss in relief.  'What a game!,' Kinder said afterward.
'When we won it I almost couldn't believe it!'
