Dupee Shaw had a complete game as the Washington Nationals topped the Detroit
Wolverines by a score of 3 to 1 at Swampoodle Grounds.

Washington had 2 runs cross the plate in the 2nd inning. Phil Baker kicked
off the action when he reached on an error. Jackie Hayes next to the plate
and he reached on an error. Barney Gilligan then laid down a sacrifice bunt.
Davy Force was up next and he lined a one-base hit which scored a run.
After another out, Shaw stepped up to the plate and he reached on an error
scoring the final run of the inning. That scoring would be all that was
needed. Washington managed 10 hits in their victory.

Shaw(8-15) lasted until the end allowing 1 run for the win. Pretzels
Getzien(16-13) was the losing pitcher. He was pinned with the loss despite
not allowing an earned run in his 8 innings of work.
