Vic Willis completed the game without help from the bullpen as the Boston
Beaneaters topped the Louisville Colonels by a score of 6 to 2 at Eclipse
Park.

Boston jumped out to the early lead in the first inning when they scored 3
runs on 2 hits. That early scoring held up. Boston banged out 9 hits on the
afternoon.

Willis(16-4) allowed 2 runs on the game. Deacon Phillippe(10-10) was the
loser. Boston continued their winning ways, with their streak now at 6 games
and counting. 'It seems we can't lose these days', Frank Selee volunteered
after the game. Then after a moment to reflect he lamented, 'Oh great! Now
I've gone and jinxed us!'
