Third baseman Art Devlin had 2 base hits and 2 RBI at Baker Bowl as the
Pittsburgh Pirates lost a heartbreaker to Philadelphia-NL Phillies by the
score of 6 to 5.

Philadelphia-NL won the game with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
Devlin doubled. Clark Griffith then threw a pitch that got away from the
catcher. John Titus then delivered a base-hit resulting in an exciting win
for Philadelphia-NL and a wild post-game celebration by the home town fans.
Philadelphia-NL rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Charlie Case(4-3) who went 2 innings, allowing no

as he did not allow an earned run in his 1 and 2/3 innings of work.
