Pete Alexander went the distance at Ebbets Field as the New York-NL Giants
beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 5 to 4.

The deciding run was scored by New York-NL in the 8th. After an out was
recorded, Ty Cobb ripped a base-knock. Honus Wagner came next and he lined a
single. Fred Luderus then delivered a one-base hit scoring the run.
Brooklyn threatened in the 9th but New York-NL was able to put down the
rally.

Alexander(10-8) got the victory, allowing 4 runs for the game. Christy
Mathewson(13-9) absorbed the loss. Despite losing Jeff Pasley was optimistic
after the game. 'We'll get over this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your
way, sometimes they don't. Any one of a dozen little things go different,
and we come out on top.'
