The St. Louis-NL Cardinals and the Cincinnati Reds locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Robison Field.  The final score was the St. Louis-NL
Cardinals 10, the Cincinnati Reds 9 in 10 innings.

Both teams had scored 9 runs after nine full innings.  St. Louis-NL won the
hard fought contest in the 10th inning.  Patsy Dougherty slapped a one-base
hit.  Dougherty stole second with some aggressive base running.  Two outs
later Kitty Bransfield came to the plate and lined a single.  Danny Murphy
stepped in and he was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Highball
Wilson then let loose a wild pitch resulting in a mighty exciting win for St.
Louis-NL and the 2,034 home town fans in attendance.  St. Louis-NL provided
plenty of action in the 5th inning which saw them plate 3 runs on 4 hits.
St. Louis-NL had 20 hits overall, while Cincinnati had 12.  

Ambrose Puttmann(1-0) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Wilson(3-2)
was hit with the loss in relief.
