Spike Shannon had 3 base hits and scored 4 times as the St. Louis-AL Browns
bested the Chicago-NL Cubs 5 to 2 at Sportsmans Park.

In the bottom of the 3rd inning St. Louis-AL scored 2 runs when they had 3
base hits.  That was all the offense they were to need.  St. Louis-AL ended
up with 8 hits for the game while Chicago-NL had 5.  

Harry Howell(12-6) got the win allowing 2 runs in 8 innings. Fred Beebe
recorded his 1st save.  Jimmy Dygert(6-4) was the loser.  He allowed 8 hits
and 5 walks in 8 innings.
