Doc Casey had 2 base hits and 3 RBI at Polo Grounds as the ice-cold Washington
Nationals lost a heartbreaker to New York-NL Giants by the score of 6 to
5.

The game was won by New York-NL when they scored a run in the bottom of the
9th inning.  After an out was recorded, Patsy Dougherty doubled.  Joe Ward
came next and he slapped a one-base hit.  Harry Lumley then ripped a base-hit
making New York-NL the winners and sending the 14,763 fans home happy.  New
York-NL had 12 hits for the afternoon.  

Bill Bernhard(4-2) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Deacon
Phillippe(7-10) took the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving
up 12 hits and 2 walks in 8 and 1/3 innings.
