WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Ray Chapman robbed Les Nunamaker of a base hit.

Ray Chapman launched 2 homeruns at League Park as the Cleveland Naps beat the
New York Yankees by the count of 8 to 6.

The Cleveland fans enjoyed the offense provided by Chapman. He clubbed a solo
home run in the 2nd inning and electrified the crowd with a Grand Slam home
run in the 5th inning. New York threatened in the 9th but their rally came
up short.

Rip Hagerman(6-11) went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Willie
Mitchell earned his 1st save. Ray Fisher(5-8) ended up with the loss. 'I
had a little blister on my index finger before the game, but I thought it was
nothing.' Hagerman said. 'I was lucky I got a win because I couldn't put the
ball where I wanted it.'
