At Handlan's Park, the St. Louis fans witnessed a great pitcher's duel.  Doc
Watson(4-5) finally bested his Newark opposite, Earl Moseley(10-8), by the
score of 3 to 1.

Watson pitched a fine game.  He allowed 4 hits and 3 walks in 5 and 2/3
innings reducing his ERA from 5.11 to 4.87.  Both teams ended up with 5 hits
on the afternoon.  

Ed Willett got the save, his 4th.  Moseley ended up with the loss.  With this
win, St. Louis has a 50-42 record.  They have been 7-3 lately.  With this
loss, Newark has a 6-4 record of late, 44-47 overall.
