Eddie Joost left the yard as the Cleveland Indians outscored the Pittsburgh
Pirates 6 to 4.
Russ Meyer(6-8) did a nice job in relief and was credited with the win. He
allowed only 1 hit and 1 walk in 2 innings. Meyer got help from Jim Hearn
who pitched great and earned his 1st save.
Schoolboy Rowe(5-5) was the losing pitcher in relief. Cleveland knocked him
around a bit, as he gave up 3 runs in 2 innings.
'We really needed this win' said Jim Murphy. 'That first drink of water at
the end of a drought sure does taste good!'
