Boston-AL Red Sox beat the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 4.
Williams was a one-man wrecking crew. He belted a three-run homer in the 1st
inning, delivered a solo blast in the 7th inning and hit a bases-empty home
run in the 9th inning. Boston-AL ended up with 12 hits for the game while
Cincinnati had 5.
The win was credited to Sheldon Jones(7-4) who went 7 innings allowing 2 runs.
Jones was helped out by Bill Macdonald who recorded his 3rd save. Vern
Bickford(8-6) ended up with the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 8 hits in 8
innings.
'Actually, I didn't feel that comfortable at the plate today' Williams said
after the game. 'Despite that, I'm happy with the results!
