Center fielder Larry Doby smacked 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Bob Porterfield
tossed a complete game at Yankee Stadium as the Cincinnati Reds beat the New
York-AL Yankees 8 to 3.

Doby had a big day against New York-AL.  He smashed a solo-shot out of the
park in the 3rd inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 5th inning and
delivered a single in the 9th inning.  Cincinnati finished with 12 hits in
the victory.  

The win went to Porterfield(10-3) who allowed 3 runs in the game. Herm
Wehmeier(3-3) was the losing pitcher.  He was touched for 4 homeruns in his 4
and 1/3 innings of work.  

Cincinnati now has a record of 46-42.  With the loss, New York-AL has a record
of 5-5 lately, 43-41 overall.
