George Decker rocketed 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI and Scott Stratton completed
the game without help from the bullpen at West Side Park where the Chicago
Colts beat the St. Louis Browns 8 to 4.
Decker was in a groove all day. He blasted a two-run home run in the 1st
inning, bombed a two-run dinger in the 3rd inning and lashed a single scoring
a run in the 4th inning. Chicago finished with 9 hits in the victory.
Stratton(8-5) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. The losing
pitcher was Pink Hawley(11-11). Decker was in a good mood after the game,
'I'm just seeing and hitting the ball real well now. I made some adjustments
last week and they are paying off. That's what this game is about. making
adjustments as the season goes along.'
