Buttons Briggs had a complete game as the Chicago Colts defeated the Pittsburg
Pirates by a score of 7 to 6 at West Side Park.

Chicago won the game with a rally in the bottom of the 8th inning with 2 runs
on 2 hits.  After an out was recorded, Jim Connor began the Chicago spurt
when he ripped a one-base hit.  Lange stole second with some aggressive base
running.  After another out, Malachi Kittridge then drew a walk.  Bill
Everitt was up next and he tripled which was good for two runs.  Pittsburg
had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.  

Briggs(5-9) allowed 6 runs on the game. The losing pitcher was Charlie
Hastings(1-3).  He surrendered 11 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.
