Bob Wicker pitched 9 strong innings at Exposition Park as the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the New York-NL Giants by the count of 9 to 0.

Wicker(10-11) pitched one of his finer games as he simply was too much for the
New York-NL batters. He was stingy on the mound, allowing just 4 hits and 1
walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA from 3.68 to 3.45. Offensively,
Pittsburgh was a juggernaut. They scored in 6 separate innings.

Bill Duggleby(10-4) was given the loss. He was unable to control the
Pittsburgh offense and allowed 10 hits and 3 walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
