Jean Dubuc allowed Hughie Jennings to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and Charlie Deal had 2 base hits at Navin Field where the Detroit Tigers
beat the Philadelphia Athletics by the score of 9 to 1.

The difference in the game was the offensive outburst by Detroit in the bottom
of the 8th inning when they exploded for 8 runs on 6 hits.  Detroit had a
total of 12 hits for the game.  

The winning pitcher was Dubuc(11-5) who allowed 1 run for the game. Byron
Houck(9-3) absorbed the loss.  He got hit pretty hard, allowing 10 hits and 3
walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
