Claude Cooper had 3 base hits and 2 RBI at Washington Park as the Brooklyn
club beat the dreadful St. Louis Terriers 9 to 7.

Brooklyn took the lead off Doc Crandall in the first inning when they scored 3
runs on 4 hits. The highlight belonged to Al Halt who made the crowd happy
when he hit a single plating two runs. St. Louis had a chance to come back
in the 9th but they came up short.

The victory went to Happy Finneran(6-4) who went 8 and 2/3 innings, allowing 7
runs. Finneran got help from John McGraw who earned his 2nd save.
Crandall(6-9) was hit with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 13 hits and
3 walks in 7 innings.

'You have to give St. Louis credit, they fought us tough to the end' Bill
Bradley said. 'It could have gone either way, but I'm glad we pulled out the
victory.'
