Catcher Phil Masi had 3 base hits and 3 RBI as the phenomenal Cincinnati Reds
topped the St. Louis Cardinals by a score of 13 to 7 at Sportsman's
Park.

Cincinnati scored 6 runs in the decisive top of the 4th inning when they came
up with 4 base hits.  The biggest moment was provided by Dutch Leonard who
helped quiet the crowd when he doubled with all three runners coming home.
Cincinnati totaled 16 hits on the afternoon.  

Leonard(10-2) went 5 innings allowing 5 runs for the win. Leonard got help
from Preacher Roe who was credited with his 15th save.  Larry Jansen(6-13)
was the loser.  He gave up 10 runs in 5 innings of work.
