New York-AL never recovered after Cincinnati took the lead in the 7th inning scoring 4 runners on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Ted Kluszewski who helped quiet the crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Both teams ended up with 12 hits on the afternoon. Keegan got relief help from Jim McDonald who gained credit for his 3rd save. Arnie Portocarrero(6-6) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 7 innings of work.
