In an embarrassing outing for the New York-AL Yankees pitching staff,
Cincinnati Reds flexed their collective muscle amassing 13 runs as Bob
Keegan(6-8)with effective use of the bullpen allowed New York-AL 4 runs.

New York-AL never recovered after Cincinnati took the lead in the 7th inning
scoring 4 runners on 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Ted Kluszewski
who helped quiet the crowd when he launched a three-run homer. Both teams
ended up with 12 hits on the afternoon.

Keegan got relief help from Jim McDonald who gained credit for his 3rd save.
Arnie Portocarrero(6-6) was tagged with the loss. He gave up 8 runs in 7
innings of work.
