TEAM RISP- Red Stockings: 6 for 19 Solons: 5 for 21

First baseman Dave Orr had 3 base hits and 3 RBI and Hank Gastright went the
distance as the Columbus Solons won at Recreation Park in dramatic fashion
over the Cincinnati Red Stockings, the final score, 10 to 9.

The game was decided in the 9th inning. Bill Greenwood drew a walk. After an
out was recorded, Jack O'Connor came up and he tripled giving Columbus the
win much to the delight of the home town crowd. Both teams ended up with 10
hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Gastright(4-9) who went the whole way allowing 9 runs.
Mike Smith(4-10) ended up with the loss in relief. He surrendered 1 run and
1 hit in 1/3 of an inning.

'I didn't have my best stuff but sometimes you just get lucky,' Gastright
said, 'this was one of those times.'
