First baseman Jake Stahl had 2 base hits and 3 RBI and Fred Burchell retired
10 batters on strikeouts at Bennett Park where the Boston Red Sox beat the
Detroit Tigers by the score of 9 to 4.

Burchell(6-7) gave a fine effort for Boston.  He went 9 innings and surrended
up 10 hits and 4 walks.  Boston had 16 hits for the afternoon.  

Ed Summers(5-11) was the losing pitcher.  He got hammered, allowing 16 hits
and 3 walks in 9 innings.  Hughie Jennings was impressed with Burchell and
