Left fielder Jack Graney had 2 base hits and Cy Falkenberg came through with a
solid 9 innings as the Cleveland Naps defeated the woeful St. Louis Browns in
12 innings 3 to 0 at Sportsman'S Park.

The game was a scoreless tie after nine. Cleveland was victorious in the 12th
inning. After an out was recorded, Harry Niles initiated the scoring spurt
when he reached on an error. Niles stole second with some aggressive base
running. Joe Birmingham then stroked a single. Cleveland continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base. Neal Ball stepped into the box
and reached on an error which scored a run. Jack Powell then tossed a pitch
that the catcher mis-handled plating another run. One out later, Graney came
to bat and lined a base-hit scoring the final run of the inning. Cleveland
totaled 7 hits on the afternoon.

Ben Demott(1-0) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Demott got
relief help from Spec Harkness who gained credit for his 1st save.
Powell(6-9) was the losing pitcher. He was the victim of a defensive lapse
and did not allow an earned run in the game.
