Otto Hess allowed Johnny Kling to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Boston Braves won a heart-stopping victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates, 3
to 2.

The game was decided in the 9th inning.  After two outs Harry Spratt ripped a
solo home run resulting in a mighty exciting win for Boston and the 1,039
home town fans in attendance.  Boston rapped out 10 hits for the afternoon.

The victory was credited to Hess(8-10) who went the distance, allowing 2 runs.
Jack Ferry(1-3) suffered the loss in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning and
surrendered 1 hit and no walks.
