The streaking Boston Red Sox won by a final score of 12 to 0. Leonard had overwhelming stuff this afternoon. He simply never gave the Chicago batters a decent pitch to drive. He walked 3 Chicago batters. The tension was mounting with every inning after the 6th. Leonard appeared oblivious himself to the mounting history until two were out in the 9th. Only then, did he allow himself one deep sigh and a slow trip around the mound. Leonard racked up 12 strikeouts. Boston banged out 13 hits on the afternoon. Red Faber(7-8) was the losing pitcher. He allowed Boston 9 runs in 6 and 1/3 innings of work. 'Leonard pitched one heck of a game!' Bill Carrigan said. 'He didn't get away with any bad pitches because he just didn't throw any bad pitches. What a performance!'
