Second baseman Fred Pfeffer had 4 hits as the Chicago Pirates beat the New
York Giants in 11 innings by a score of 5 to 4.

Both teams had scored 4 runs after nine full innings.  Chicago won it in the
11th inning.  Hugh Duffy tripled.  After an out was recorded, Jimmy Ryan came
to bat and stroked a single.  Ryan took second on the throw.  Charlie
Comiskey then drew a walk to load the bases.  Pfeffer came up and he laced a
base-knock making Chicago victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd.  Chicago had 16 hits for the game and New York had 9.  

Frank Dwyer(4-5) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the win. Hank O'Day(7-12)
absorbed the loss.  He allowed 16 hits and 2 walks in 10 and 1/3 innings.
