Jouett Meekin had a complete game at Polo Grounds where the New York Giants
beat the Boston Beaneaters 11 to 4.

George Van Haltren enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He lashed a single which
was good for two runs in the 1st inning, banged out a one-base hit bringing
home two baserunners in the 3rd inning and belted a three-run homer in the
7th inning.  New York totaled 13 hits on the afternoon.  

The winning pitcher was Meekin(14-13) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Harry
Staley(10-8) was the loser.  New York scored big getting 11 runs off him in 8
innings.  

With this win, New York has a 39-42 record.  They have been 3-7 lately.  With
the loss Boston now has a record of 44-39.
