The Brooklyn Grooms nipped the Philadelphia Phillies in 10 innings 8 to 7 at
Baker Bowl in a hard fought contest.

Both teams had scored 7 runs after nine full innings.  Brooklyn was victorious
in the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Billy Shindle drew a walk.
George Treadway was next and he doubled.  After another out, Candy Lachance
was walked intentionally to load the bases.  Tom Daly followed next and he
drew a walk scoring the run.  Philadelphia proved to be no trouble in the
bottom of the 10th.  

The win was credited to Brickyard Kennedy(9-7) who went 2 innings allowing no
runs. Henry Lampe(0-2) ended up with the loss.  Wth the win Brooklyn now has
a record of 44-34.  Philadelphia has a record of 41-36 after the loss.
