Jake Weimer took a no-hitter into the 6th inning as the New York-NL Giants
defeated the St. Louis-NL Cardinals 4 to 1 at Robison Field.

Weimer(14-10) escaped virtually unscathed against the St. Louis-NL hitters.
He didn't give up much, just 3 hits and 3 walks in 9 innings. The
left-handed Weimer had his no-hit bid broken up by Tommy Leach who doubled
with nobody out in the 6th inning. New York-NL banged out 7 hits on the
afternoon.

The loss was charged to Chief Bender(9-11). Weimer was obviously very pleased
with his performance in the aftermath of the game, 'It was just one of those
games where everything worked. My arm felt great, heck, I could have pitched
another two or three innings. I only hope that I can do it again next time
out!'
