The Brooklyn Superbas and the Cincinnati Reds locked up in an exciting one-run
game at Palace Of The Fans.  The final score was the Brooklyn Superbas 4, the
Cincinnati Reds 3.

In the 5th inning Brooklyn scored 3 runs with the help of 3 hits.  Bill Bergen
led off and started the attack as he stroked a single.  Kaiser Wilhelm
stepped up next and he reached on an error.  Al Burch struck out, unable to
help the rally.  Wally Clement was up next and he ripped a one-base hit which
scored a run.  Clement took second on the throw.  Ed Lennox stepped into the
box and lined a base-hit driving home another two teammates.  Cincinnati had
a chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  

Wilhelm(5-7) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 and 1/3 innings. Nap
Rucker preserved the game for Wilhelm, recording his his 1st save.  Jack
Rowan(8-7) took the loss.
