Bill Serena hit a homerun and had 4 RBI at Forbes Field as the Pittsburgh
Pirates beat the awful Boston-AL Red Sox by the count of 11 to 3.

Serena had a big evening at the plate.  He ripped a base-knock bringing home
two baserunners in the 1st inning and hit a bases-empty home run in the 7th
inning.  Pittsburgh had many opportunities throughout the game and scored in
6 separate innings.  

The win was credited to Allie Reynolds(15-9) who went 7 innings allowing 1
run. Jim Wilson(2-17) was tagged with the loss.  He got hammered, allowing 7
hits and 4 walks in 3 innings.
