Left fielder Sandy Amoros knocked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the
blistering-hot Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the Chicago-NL Cubs by the score
of 10 to 2 at Forbes Field.

Amoros enjoyed a fine evening at the plate. He cracked a two-run shot in the
1st inning and bombed a two-run dinger in the 5th inning. Pittsburgh
finished with 12 hits while Chicago-NL ended up with 5.

The victory was credited to Early Wynn(20-3) who went 7 innings, allowing 2
runs. The loss was charged to Sal Maglie(12-4). Pittsburgh knocked him
around a bit, as he gave up 8 runs in 5 innings.

With the win, Pittsburgh continued their winning ways; their streak now stands
at 8 games and counting. 'We're running on all cylinders now', said Andy
Spector. 'I probably shouldn't change a thing and let the guys continue to
put up the wins.'
