Right fielder Hank Bauer launched 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI at Connie Mack
Stadium as the Cincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia-AL Athletics by the
count of 15 to 9.

Bauer propelled Cincinnati to victory.  He hit a bases-empty home run in the
3rd inning, cracked a two-run shot in the 4th inning, lined a one-base hit in
the 7th inning and stroked a base-hit scoring two baserunners in the 8th
inning.  Cincinnati lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning scoring 4 runs
and the 8th inning when they had 6 runs on 6 hits.  Cincinnati finished with
15 hits while Philadelphia-AL ended up with 11.  

The victory was credited to Warren Hacker(6-4) who went 5 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 2 runs. Johnny Antonelli(10-5) was the losing pitcher.  He served up
3 homeruns in his 4 innings.
