Jack Farrell had 2 base hits as the Syracuse Stars bested the Providence Grays
in 10 innings 11 to 10 at Newell Park.

Both teams had scored 8 runs after nine full innings.  Syracuse won the game
in the 10th inning.  Jimmy Macullar led off and he reached on an error.  John
McGuinness stepped into the batter's box and he doubled.  Mike Dorgan then
reached on an error plating two runs.  Farrell was up next and he laced a
single, and an error was also committed, making Syracuse the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration.  Despite losing, Providence out-hit
Syracuse 16 to 8.  

The win was credited to Dorgan(1-1) who went 1 inning allowing 2 runs. Bobby
Mathews(3-3) was tagged with the loss.  He was knocked around, surrendering
11 runs in 9 innings.
