Frank Knauss allowed Al Buckenberger to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the Columbus Solons crushed the Philadelphia Athletics 16 to 4.

Spud Johnson had a big day with his bat.  He tripled bringing in two
baserunners in the 3rd inning, slapped a single in the 4th inning and doubled
which scored a run in the 6th inning.  Columbus bats were hot in the 6th
inning with 5 runs on 5 hits.  Columbus kept the pressure on throughout the
contest as they scored in 6 different innings.  

Knauss(12-0), allowing 4 runs for the game, picked up the victory. Ed
Seward(4-7) suffered the loss.  Columbus knocked him around a bit, as he gave
up 6 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
