Les German went the distance and Eddie Burke had 3 base hits and scored 3
times at Polo Grounds as the New York Giants, running on all cylinders,
ripped the Brooklyn Grooms by a large 13 to 2 margin.
Brooklyn was unable to recover after New York went ahead in the 2nd inning
with 2 runs using 2 hits. After an out was recorded, Shorty Fuller started
the attack as he lashed a single, and an error was also committed. One out
later, Parke Wilson stepped in and he reached on an error bringing in a run.
Monte Ward then singled scoring the final run of the inning. New York had 18
hits for the afternoon.
The win was credited to German(3-2) who went the whole way allowing 2 runs.
