Center fielder Ollie Pickering had 3 base hits as the St. Louis-AL Browns
bested the Boston-AL Americans 4 to 2 at Sportsman'S Park.

St. Louis-AL delivered all the runs required in the 8th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits.  The crucial at-bat was provided by Charlie Carr
who made the crowd happy when he doubled with all three baserunners touching
home.  Harry Howell earned the save with a perfect ninth, his 22nd save.

Jack Harper(2-10) got credit for the victory, pitching 8 innings and allowing
2 runs. Joe McGinnity(15-13) was charged with the loss.  He gave up 4 runs
