Buck Freeman smacked 2 triples and had 3 RBI as the Philadelphia-AL Athletics
bested the struggling Detroit Tigers 7 to 3 at Columbia Park.

Freeman enjoyed a fine day at the plate.  He stroked a one-base hit resulting
in a run in the 3rd inning, tripled scoring a run in the 5th inning and
tripled which brought home a run in the 7th inning.  Overall Philadelphia-AL
out-hit Detroit 11 to 5.  

Roy Patterson(12-16) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 innings.
Clarence Currie(3-9) was hit with the loss.  He allowed 11 hits and 2 walks
in 6 and 2/3 innings.
