Gus Dorner shutout Cincinnati while allowing the Boston bullpen a day-off as
the Boston Beaneaters defeated the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 1 to 0 at
South End Grounds.

Dorner(5-15) pitched a solid game.  He didn't allow much, just 5 hits and 6
walks in 9 innings.  Cincinnati threatened in the 9th but Boston was able to
put down the rally.  

Jake Weimer(13-11) was hit with the loss.  'Some losses are harder to take
than others' Ned Hanlon lamented after the game.  'This was one of them.'
