Harry Howell pitched 7 strong innings at Columbia Park as the St. Louis-AL
Browns won in dramatic fashion coming back to beat the Philadelphia-AL
Athletics by the count of 7 to 3.

St. Louis-AL erupted with the game winning runs in the 9th inning scoring 6
runners on 5 hits. St. Louis-AL finished with 10 hits while Philadelphia-AL
ended up with 4.

Fred Beebe(5-3) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Ed Summers(9-11)
absorbed the loss. He was the victim of a defensive lapse and did not allow
an earned run in the game.

Tim Singer was all smiles after the game, 'To pull a game out in your last at
bats, is a beautiful feeling - and did you see how quiet it got out there?
You could have heard a pin drop when we took the lead. But, hey, that's what
makes baseball so great - as the great sage Yogi Berra says, 'it's not over
'til its over.'
