Ty Cobb had 4 hits and 2 RBI and Ed Willett had a complete game at Huntington
Ave. Grds where the Detroit Tigers beat the Boston Red Sox 6 to 3.

Detroit had the game winning rally in the top of the 9th inning plating 3 runs
on 3 hits.  After an out was recorded, Oscar Stanage kicked off the action
when he delivered a single.  Willett stepped into the batter's box and he
reached on an error.  Davy Jones then lined a base-hit bringing in a run.
Jones took second on the throw.  Donie Bush came up and he worked the squeeze
play to perfection scoring one more run.  Cobb came up to bat and tripled
scoring the final run of the inning.  The Boston offense proved no trouble in
the bottom of the 9th.  

Willett(10-7) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. Smoky Joe
Wood(14-10) ended up with the loss.  The Detroit ballclub's record now stands
at 45-51.  With the loss, Boston has a record of 7-3 lately, 57-41 overall.
