Ed Warner allowed Fred Clarke to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as
the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated the pathetic Boston Braves by the score of 6
to 4 at South End Grounds.

Pittsburgh came up with 5 runs in the top of the 6th inning when they came up
with 4 base hits.  The highlight belonged to George Gibson who silenced South
End Grounds as he doubled plating all three baserunners.  Boston had 11 hits
in the game while Pittsburgh had 7, but Pittsburgh had the more timely hits.

The winning pitcher was Warner(4-2) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Walt
Dickson(7-8) was charged with the loss.  Wth the win Pittsburgh now has a
record of 54-37.  With the loss Boston now has a record of 30-63, worst in
the league.
