Heine Groh had 4 hits at Redland Field as the Cincinnati Reds beat the
Brooklyn Robins in 11 innings 3 to 2.

The score was tied at 2 after nine. Cincinnati won the hard fought contest in
the 11th inning.  After an out was recorded, Fritz Mollwitz ripped a
base-hit, and an error was also committed.  Bill Rodgers was next and he drew
a walk.  Groh then lined a one-base hit to load the bases.  Buck Herzog was
next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim.  Joe Wagner came up to bat and
delivered a base-hit giving Cincinnati the win much to the delight of the
home town crowd.  Cincinnati ended up with 16 hits for the game while
Brooklyn had 6.  

Lefty George(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 2 innings. Jeff
Pfeffer(9-6) ended up with the loss.  He was hit hard and gave up 16 hits and
5 walks in 10 and 2/3 innings.
