Walter Johnson allowed Clark Griffith to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game and catcher Eddie Ainsmith had 3 base hits and 3 RBI at Griffith Stadium
as the Washington Nationals, running on all cylinders, ripped the St. Louis
Browns by a large 14 to 1 margin.

Johnson(16-7) earned his pay with a solid performance for Washington.  He went
