Eddie Joost cracked 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cleveland Indians defeated
the Chicago-NL Cubs by the score of 10 to 7 at Wrigley Field.
Joost provided much of the offense. He smashed a two-run homer in the 5th
inning and cracked a two-run shot in the 7th inning. Although they lost,
Chicago-NL did out-hit Cleveland 14 to 9.
The victory was credited to Howie Pollet(4-10) who went 2 and 1/3 innings,
allowing 1 run. Pollet was helped out by Jim Hearn who recorded his 34th
save. Willie Ramsdell(6-4) was given the loss. He served up 3 gopher balls
in 5 innings.
