One run was the difference at Crosley Field as the Pittsburgh Pirates defeated
the Cincinnati Reds 3 to 2.

Pittsburgh took the lead for good in the top of the 6th inning plating one
baserunner.  Pittsburgh had only 5 hits for the afternoon.  

Ewell Blackwell(12-3) went 7 and 1/3 innings allowing 2 runs for the win.
Blackwell got help from Ellis Kinder who earned his 24th save.  Ned
Garver(12-8) was the loser.  He pitched 9 innings giving up only 5 hits and 2
walks.
