Joe Adcock knocked 2 homeruns and had 6 RBI and Don Newcombe allowed Gordy
Renaud to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game as the Washington
Nationals defeated the Pittsburgh Pirates 10 to 5 at Forbes Field.

Adcock had a big day at the plate.  He launched a three-run homer in the 1st
inning and lofted a three-run bomb in the 3rd inning.  Washington rapped out
11 hits for the afternoon.  

Newcombe(13-10) lasted until the end allowing 5 runs for the win. Herb
Score(8-11) took the loss.  He allowed a few too many baserunners giving up 8
hits and 7 walks in 5 innings.
