WEB GEMS- Top 6th: George Mullin robbed Wilbur Good of a base hit.

Larry McLean had 2 base hits and 2 RBI and George Mullin had a strong outing
at Sportsmans Park as the St. Louis-AL Browns beat the struggling Boston-NL
Braves 6 to 2.

Mullin(11-10) was virtually untouchable. He was stingy on the mound, allowing
just 4 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings. St. Louis-AL had 7 hits for the
afternoon.

The losing pitcher was Frank Smith(8-15). Allan Kaufman was obviously
impressed with the pitching of Mullin, 'That guy made us look a little silly
out there this afternoon. We just couldn't get to him at all - everything
was working for him. I just hope that he got that kinda performance out of
his system.'
